picked this week

first radishes of the year!!
lots of salad leaves - various types of lettuce, spinach and rocket
more leeks

more broccoli,
more rhubarb - made rhubarb, orange and ginger jam.

  1. Hi I'm so envious of your radish they are supposed to be an easy crop to grow-not with me though!I never get them to a decent size.. ho hum..More like pea size *smiles*
I've been reading your blog for awhile now and thought I'd come out of hiding :)

  2. I find spring radishes grow much easier than those set in summer. I think they get too dry so end up tough and stringy but there's also more slug damage on later ones. I've tried to grow the large sort, such as Spanish Black Round, to stand over winter but without much success.

  3. So lovely to grow, harvest and eat your own food. It tastes so special and you know where it's come from. It is always the freshest!
