March in the garden - vegetables

lots of seedlings growing in the greenhouse ready for transfer to the allotment - cabbages, cauliflower and broccoli,

broad beans - the holly leaves deter mice -

and peas

outside, at least one clump of parsley has survived,

garlic is growing quite well

but only one lonely autumn sown broad bean

  1. Hey Mary,

I like the holly leaf idea a lot. The mice have had some of my pea and broad bean seeds, so will definitely try that.

    Jono.

  2. I'm never really sure what exactly you're supposed to do with the holly -whether it should be planted in the ground with the seeds or just laid on top. We're going to be sowing peas and beans outside at the allotment so I'm hoping it will work there too.
